op ‘n oseaan van trane
jy bring vars, mietvrye voorrade uit eksotiese ver, ver plekke
en ‘n deeglik-aangetekende inventaris van:
* saggebreide beervelkaros
* turkse amber met oerinsekte daarin vasgevang
* fyn, fyn eenhoringskelet (self gejag)
* geurige olie van damaskusroos en bergamot
* ‘n vurige skimmelhings…..
en ‘n pragtige turkoois amulet
wat ek uiteindelik op my muwwe ou mummie se voorkop kan plaas
sodat ek die tombe vir eens en vir altyd agter my kan toemaak.

A mouse runs
to the lightest outer branches of a tree.
The tree becomes itself
through the touch of the mouse.
Branches come into being or
the tree realises there are branches
when the mouse runs on them.

the branches by running on them.
