2. Ballade of the green berets – Sgt. Barry Sadler (1)
3. Barbara-Ann – Beach Boys (5)
4. The 19th nervous breakdown – Rolling Stones (2)
5. To whom it concerns – Chris Andrews (4)
6. These boots are made for walking – Nancy Sinatra (6)
7. Flowers on the wall – Steytler Brothers (nuut)
8. A well-respected man – Kinks (nuut)

I hear the cottonwoods whispering above
“Tammy, Tammy, Tammy’s in love”
The old hooty owl hooty-hoos to the dove
“Tammy, Tammy, Tammy’s in love”
Does my lover feel what I feel
When he comes near?
My heart beats so joyfully
You’d think he could hear.

Wish I knew if he knew what I’m dreaming of
Tammy, Tammy, Tammy’s in love.
Whipperwill, whipperwill, you and I know
Tammy, Tammy, can’t let you go
The breeze from the bayou keeps murmering above
“Tammy, Tammy, you love him so”

When the night is warm, safe and warm
I long for his charms
I’d sing like a violin if I were in his arms.

Wish I knew if he knew what I’m dreaming of
Tammy, Tammy, Tammy’s in love.

8. For you babe – June Muscat (8)

‘The ballade’ reeds 2 weke bo, maar gedugte nuwe uitdagers het op die toneel verskyn.

I hear the sound of distant drums
Far away, far away
And if they call for me to come
Then I must go and you’ll stay

So Mary marry me, let’s not wait
Let’s share all the time we can before it’s too late
Love me now, for now is all the time there may be
If you love me Mary, Mary marry me.

I hear the sound of bugles blow
Far away, far away
And if they call, then I must go
Across the sea, so (wide?) and (brave?)

So Mary marry me, let’s not wait
For the distant drums might change our wedding date
Love me now, for now is all the time there may be
If you love me Mary, Mary marry me.

Happy Together – Turtles

Imagine me and you, we two

I think about you day and night, it’s only right

To think about the girl you love, and hold her tight

So happy together.

I should call you up, invest the time

When you said you belong to me, I lose my mind

Imagine when the day is through, so very tired

So happy together.

I can’t see my loving nobody but you for all my life

When you’re with me, baby, the skies will be blue for all my life

Me and you and you and me

No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be

The only one for me is you, and you for me

So happy together.

I can’t see …….

…….., and you for me

So happy together

So happy together

I’ll do as much for you someday – Slim Whitman
Will you go and see my old sweetheart
Who lives across the way.
I’ll do as much for you someday.
There’s no reason why a love like ours
Should ever go astray
I’ll do as much for you someday.

I called her but she’s never home.
She returned my mail.
I tried my best to see her
But all my efforts fail.
Maybe you can have a talk with her
And patch things up O.K.
I’ll do as much for you someday.

Somebody told a story
And I think that it hurt her pride.
If she will only listen
I’ll proof somebody lied.
For she’s my one and only one
It had always been that way.
I’ll do as much for you someday.
