A little bit more on dancing…

Desember 10, 2008 in Sonder kategorie

 Dance, when you’re broken open.
Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance, when you’re perfectly free.

— Jelaluddin Rumi (13th century)

A study at the Albert Einstein Center in New York found that participants who danced three or four times a week showed seventy-six percent less incidence of dementia than those who danced just once a week or not at all.

To dance is to write poetry with your body…

The only dancing I used to do was in mosh-pits in the 1990s.

A few years ago I unsuccessfully attempted the tango in Buenos Aires with my wife – just to be clear, I was the “un” in “unsuccessfully”.

But maybe I should drag my two left feet to a few dance classes in 2009 to combat the onslaught of dementia that I experience lately.

Who knows, the dancing might even transform my big sack back into a six pack – I did not see any out-of-shape professional male dancers on Strictly Come Dancing…

    Hi Feuerfrei!

I think most people are very self conscious when it comes to dancing….scared that they might look foolish. But i think we all have it in us. If you feel you can’t dance on the outside…then take the party inside, dance with your liver, heart, lungs.

Put on some music and see what emotions it evokes. If you want to capture the energy of the tango, but are scared of the form (Framework, choreography and steps) of the dance, then listen to some fire based music and let the music dance you!

The youtube clip that i’ve included show 2 people harnessing the fire energy. They are dancing completely free and just making it up as they are going along. They didnt practice anything beforehand. I’ve experienced Patricia and Marcello in actual life many times and they are totally transforming!!!

A friend also introduced me to Apocalyptica recently. They are fantastic to dance on…fire based strings!
