Izak met sy lastige kamera

November 15, 2017 in Uncategorized

Hier is ’n Kerskousboek!

Dit is Alta Cloete wat my so noem!

Chanette Paul among the classiest thriller writers of our day

November 14, 2017 in Uncategorized

Today it was announced that my colleagues are getting quotes for a reprint of the South African edition of Sacrificed. Awesome! But how did Sacrificed do overseas?

Well, the New York Journal of Books says: “Sacrificed places Chanette Paul among the classiest thriller writers of our day.” Read the full review here.

Crime-thriller Hound in the United Kingdom says: “Race and identity are explored in a thrilling story of political corruption, ruthless ambition and betrayal, with no shortage of heartache.” Read the full review here.

Crime-thriller Hound also invited Chanette to tell her UK readers what writing in Africa feels like! You can read her answer here.

The Global Literature in Libraries Initiative placed an excerpt from Sacrificed on their website You can read it here.

And don’t forget: Even before she was published in English, Chanette had wowed Dutch-speaking audiences with two tours to Belgium.

The online shop Bol.com calls Chanette “an amazing story teller”. (“Chanette Paul, een geweldige verteller”.) You can read the entire conversation here, if you can follow the Dutch:

This reader says: “How wonderful that a book had managed to maintain its grip from the first page!”

If you can read Dutch, you can check out the full review here.
